I stick with you through your health and wellness journey. It is about the baby steps. First step – putting your shoes on. It is never too late to start your journey to well being. Health and wellness is not about an event, it is about lifestyle changes.

I truly believe that being healthy is a lifestyle. I focus on being healthy over being skinny and I love how healthy feels.
In January of 2013 I began a Weight Watchers class for the fifth time after not sticking with the program in past attempts. This time was different, I felt I needed to make this change permanent and decided I was not a "quitter." I remember being on the elliptical, crying, thinking, "how did I get this out of shape?"
So I did exactly what I planned on doing, I made this change permanent. Around 5 months into this journey, I decided to attend a toning class led by the amazing Master Trainer - Janelle Rogers. I consider myself a work in progress. I have lost 63 pounds since January 2013.
I'm human, and I have bad days. We all will have bad days but it's important to remember that you get back on it the next day. And always remember it's never too late, you're not too old, as a wife and mom, you must find time to take care of you. I am married, 43 years old and a busy mom of three.
I became a certified personal trainer in June of 2017 and joined the Training By J Team to help others achieve their lifestyle goals.

With the knowledge I have for boxing I want to give back and share the sweet science with others. While teaching the techniques and fundamentals of boxing I want others, both kids and adults, to not only receive a great workout but also learn how to box.
I have 10+ years of experience in competitive boxing and am a 2-time Golden Glove Champion. Even though I no longer compete, I still have a strong passion and love for the craft of boxing.
I work with kids and adults, and I hope this will lead me one day to one of my dreams in opening up my own boxing gym. Boxing as a fitness activity enables the average person to hone athletic skills, all without having to take a punch. Boxing is a great way to get in shape and improve your health:

I've had the pleasure to teach Zumba since 2012. Zumba is a super fun way to burn tons of calories and have fun doing it! An average class can burn 400-1000 calories. With a blend of rhythms such as reggaeton, bollywood, salsa, merengue, tango, samba and international hits it creates a party atmosphere for any age!! This is not a dance so dont take yourself so seriously. We will sweat, smile, laugh and burn those calories together!!

My own personal need to heal is the driver behind my passion for fitness. I was in a car accident in 2000 which required neck surgery. I started doing Yoga to gain my strength and improve my overall flexibility. I obtained my first Yoga certification in 2003 and left corporate America in 2005. I went back to Massage Therapy school and the rest is history. Always striving to learn more about the fitness and massage industry.

Swedish massage is the most common type of massage therapy. It promotes relaxation and tension release due to stress and muscles tightness throughout the entire body. Exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxicity, improving circulation and flexibility - all while easing tension. This therapy uses light to medium pressure, head to toe if you so wish. Make sure to let your therapist know exactly which areas you'd like more focus on or areas to avoid all together.
Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage with focus and deeper pressure on specific areas of need and chronic muscle tension. This therapy uses medium to firm pressure head to toe if you so wish, with firmer pressure used on the areas of need. Deep tissue massage focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue and fascia, the protective layer surrounding your muscles bones and joints. It is also beneficial for breaking up scar tissues caused by injuries new and old. At the end of each service you will be given an additional 5 minutes of relaxation time on the table to just focus on you

Massage therapy through pregnancy is a wonderful choice for overall wellness and stress relief for expectant mothers. In addition, prenatal massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as headaches, backaches, stiff shoulders and neck, feet and leg cramps often caused from swelling. Laying on your side or the "Sideline position" is used with supportive, soft cushions and pillows to alleviate extra strain on the lower back and pelvic area when the pressure of massage techniques are applied.

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which your certified therapist uses special cups on your skin that create suction. The suction creates separation in the layers of your muscle tissue, helping to increase blood flow; which, break up blockages, scar tissues, and any other build up within your muscle tissue. This is a deep tissue service. For more information or feel free to ask your therapist as many questions as necessary to make you comfortable with this modality.
